I guess there is enough information on this site to give a good picture profile of myself. However Ill summarize. Some may say its about bloody time ;). Its hard to give out information without sounding condescending or patronizing, so ill stay brief in what I write.

I’ve been thrashing the water with flies for over twenty years now, I was taught this art form by my sisters previous boyfriend and to be honest I’ve never looked back. I am a member of the Hirst Park trout Ticklers where myself and my two kids attend to learn fly dressing. I am also a member of the Wansbeck and Blyth FlyFishing club.

I begin fishing at a local venue to myself, Sweethope Lough, near Knowlesgate, Northumberland.

Since I began working and more importantly earning money! I’ve had the privilege to fly fish in rivers and lakes all around Europe, Last year (2008) was particularly some of the best fly fishing I’ve had, fishing in Holland, Belgium, Lough Mask for the world cup, Northern Ireland, and my favorite place Scotland.

Scotland was a milestone for me as myself and my daughter fished the Scourie hill tops in Sutherland. I made some excellent friends there and will continue to visit this place hopefully year on year.

Trout and Fly was an idea I had and it began in one form or another in 2001. It used to be called trout-fisherman.co.uk however I renamed the site just in case. ;).

Before our third and most serious hack we had over 1500 members, I hope to rebuild the site with your help and with the help of our strong members and moderator / admin team.

What trout and fly has brought to me is a kindred friendship with dozens of great likeminded people, some unfortunately live in other countries and others more closer to home. We try and meet up half a dozen times a year and gold annually the T and F open and the BIG fish competition, each has a prize and a trophy donated by the site.

The site operates as a non profit organization and all monies donated and made available through raffles, merchandise etc goes into the running of the forum and to aid our continued growth.
