Julie Gerry - site Administrator

I first started fishing when we went to Scotland to visit the in-laws. The only time I got to see my husband was if I tagged along He used to cast the flies out and let me bring them in!! Then I insisted he teach me to cast - the rest is history! He's regretted it ever since
Although it was almost 2 years before I could actually touch a fish with out marigold gloves

I've now been fly fishing for over 11 years. Since then I've fished for the Irish Ladies Team 8 times, and have been captain twice. My claim to fame is when I won the World Cup on Lough Mask in 2004 and am still the only woman ever to do so!

I mainly fish the wild loughs of Ireland, my favourite being Lough Mask, but I also love to fish for rainbows as well.

I joined the T&F site over a year ago and have made many good friends from it. There is always someone online to give advise on how to fish a particular lake, the flies etc. I've attended a few site outings and can highly recommend them - I can still remember the hangovers

If you need any help or have any problems with the site just give me a shout. I'm here to help

I have known Julie for a number of years now and can honestly say she is a top lady...she brought me out today (my second time fly fishing since leading a life of crime as a carp angler!!) and showed me not only immense patience but loads of helpful tit-bits to keep my on the straight and narrow. M have just registered to the site and will now start my onslaught of amazingly stupid beginner questions Very Happy Very Happy
